Food/Supply Needs
Operation Breakthrough serves 700 children daily, ages 0 to 18. They come from 450 families who on average are living on monthly income of $1000. As you can imagine, once they pay rent and utilities, they have little cash left for items such as toilet tissue, diapers, soap, laundry detergent, etc. - none of which can be purchased with food stamps. So toiletries and cleaning supplies are hugely appreciated, in addition to food. Even for those families who have food stamps, the benefits do not stretch across the whole month. Many families need our pantry in order to feed their children healthy food, especially on those last days before their benefits renew and with the increased food costs.
